Why does a price say ESTIMATE?

Because it is one. For some travel types we do not yet have a live rate feed, so rather than dress a guess up as a fare, the app badges it ESTIMATE, tells you where the number came from, and shows how old it is. Prices without that badge come from a live fare source. We would rather be trusted than be clicked.

How does the price watch work?

Open a search result and tap Watch this price. From then on, iOS wakes the app periodically in the background to re-check that route. When the fare drops below the target you set, you get a notification on your lock screen. Each watched route keeps its own price history, drawn as a trend line, stored on your device.

iOS decides when background refreshes actually run, based on how you use the app and your battery state, so checks are frequent but not on a fixed clock. Pull to refresh in the Watchlist to re-check immediately.

I'm not getting notifications

Check Settings → Notifications → Payanwise and make sure notifications are allowed, and Settings → General → Background App Refresh is on. Low Power Mode suspends background refresh entirely.

The first search after a while is slow

Our backend goes idle when nobody is using it and takes a moment to wake. The app shows a "waking up the server" state and retries on its own. After that, searches are fast.

Why does a flight leave from a different airport?

Fare sources sometimes substitute a nearby airport — a Dubai search can return a Sharjah departure, which is often genuinely cheaper. When that happens the app says so on the result itself, naming the actual departure airport. Always read that line before booking.

Booking, changes, refunds and cancellations

Payanwise is a search and comparison app. We are not a travel agent, we do not sell tickets, and we never take your payment. Booking happens on the airline's, hotel's or agency's own site, and your contract is with them.

That means changes, cancellations, refunds, baggage questions and check-in problems have to go to whoever you booked with — they hold the reservation, and we have no access to it. Your confirmation email will name them. If you cannot work out who that is, email us and we will help you identify it.

Deleting my data

There are no accounts, so there is nothing to close. Everything the app saves lives on your device. Delete an item in the app to remove it, or delete the app to erase all of it at once. See the privacy policy for the detail.

How is Payanwise free?

When you book through a partner we are paid a commission by that partner. You never pay more for having come through us. Paid placements are always labelled and never affect how results are ranked.

Something is wrong with a price or a result

Please tell us. Send the route, the dates, and a screenshot if you can. Pricing accuracy is the thing we care most about getting right, and reports like that are how we catch a bad data source.
